HELLO EVERYONE. Two things!

1: Through a series of hilarious events, Elaine can see through illusions! Illusionists are a legit type of magician where she's from and this effectively renders her immune to that type of magic when using that ability (which defaults to "on"), but obviously she is not in her setting!

This applies only to magic-based illusions -- ie, if you have a fairy or something and they're using magic to change their appearance or you're whatshisface from Bleach, you would hit this post up! Stuff like that. (Obviously we end up with a tiny power imbalance if you're in something like the second category, so we can talk it out!) If you're just something like a stage magician, though, then you're all good and she is probably wondering where the fuck that quarter came from.

2: Through a much less hilarious series of events, she is also a huge walking, talking stress on people's sanity levels. It's not as bad as it could be, because she's been removed from her setting where everyone's sanity was under constant stress to begin with and she was under the direct influence of her gods constantly, but obviously there's still some issue here.

If/When experiencing a heightened emotional state (rare but still notable), she can cause awful nightmarish hallucinations just by existing, with a range of about a meter. Even without that, touching her is incredibly unpleasant! You get the same effect, increased or reduced based on the duration of the contact, and in general you just sort of get the idea you'd rather cut your hand off than touch her.

To play it safe, I'll be taking opt-outs as the default answer; so if this isn't your kind of thing, you don't have to comment! However, if you'd like to play with either of these things, please comment here!

- If you play an illusionist or a glamoured-up character and you want to mess around with someone who's unable to see those things, drop me a line here saying you're up for Option 1, along with some information about the illusions or glamours!
- Same deal for Option 2, but hallucinations are all up to you since they're dependant on your character's mind and mental issues! If you want the hallucinations by presence but not the hallucinations by contact or vice-versa, please mention that too!

I'll always ask first regardless, especially for option 2. And if you've opted in previously and you just happened to decide during this particular thread that you don't want to play with it, let me know and we'll just handwave! If have any questions or comments or concerns at all, I can be reached via this post, my contact post, [plurk.com profile] lightorchestra on plurk, or just by PMing this or Mary's journal.

Option 1 - Patchouli's not an illusionist by trade, but she dabbles in it with her water magic, and someone with specific anti-illusion powers would easily be able to pierce anything she could put up in that domain.

Option 2 - I'm not opposed to it, let's hash it out in more detail if it becomes more relevant.

SINCE WE'LL BE THREADING i should probably say i'm totally opting into option two, for what it's worth o7

um technically precure also work under the sailor moon principle of "if you didn't see them transform you can't tell" but that's a glamour so elaine's totally welcome to recognize her in and out of transformation!

Up for both options! Chrome's an illusionist and her own organs are illusions-- it's possible that Elaine might see Chrome's stomach as caved in even when the illusions are in place (which they always are unless something disrupts it).

you know, I wasn't sure but I was like... this looks important maybe it's a catch-all for all games....

Chrome would be so shocked if it was brought up she wouldn't even know what to do HAHa. Her illusions trick her body into thinking everything's a-okay because Real Illusions?? Which is some bullshit thing this manga made up who the hell knows how it works. how does anything in this series work.
